the Houthi militia is looking for new gains under UN sponsorship - Thursday 19 May 2022 الساعة 10:43 am مشاركة Taiz, NewsYemen: The terrorist Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, announced that it had referred the request to extend the UN armistice to study, according to the assessment of the current stage, taking into account the extent to which the other party, "legitimacy and the Arab coalition" adhered to the terms of the current armistice.

And it claimed that it will put the opening of roads in Taiz and other provinces in accordance with the terms of the truce among the priorities that are being worked on to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

This came during a meeting of the so-called "Supreme Political Council", which was held yesterday, headed by Houthi leader Mahdi Al-Mashat, according to what was published on the Sabanet website in its Houthi version.

The militias’ talk about opening roads in Taiz and other governorates is linked, according to the news published by the Houthi website, to the commitment of the United Nations and the coalition to pay overdue salaries to all state employees and to ensure the sustainability of their payment, as this comes within the humanitarian file and within the framework of their duties.

The UN humanitarian truce is expected to end on the second of next June, without achieving any gains for the legitimate government in light of the intransigence of the Houthi militias and the pressure of the UN envoy to Yemen.

Despite the gains made by the Houthis, the Iranian arm expressed its dissatisfaction with the obstruction of the oil derivatives ships from the port of Hodeidah, the delay in the conduct of flights, the failure to open the destination of Cairo so far, and the negligence of the United Nations in carrying out its duty as it should in this regard, as he claimed.

The Houthi militia intends to put forward an increase in the number of flights through Sanaa airport and ships entering the port of Hodeidah, as a prerequisite for extending the truce, claiming to compensate for what they missed during the current truce.
