This concern was voiced following death of one detainee in Houthis-run prison.

The organization said that Khaled Al-Haith, died on Wednesday in a Houthis-run prison due to painful torture he had in the confinement.

“With increasing of death cases among abductees in the Houthis-run prisons and intentional negligence, the organization expresses its extreme concern that the abducted journalists might have the same fate,” the organization said in a statement.

“That is because imprisonment conditions and inhuman treatment are consistent in the Houthis-run prisons,” it explained.

The organization reported two weeks ago health deterioration of the detained journalists in the Houthis-run prisons who have been in detention since mid-2015.

It held the Houthis full liability to health and safety of the detained journalists.

It also demanded immediate release of the journalists with no conditions.

It called on the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy to Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to save lives of the detained journalists as part of their responsibly.

It said that it reserves the right to legally pursue perpetrators of the press violations and crimes against reporters.
