يتزامن ذلك مع فشل مساعيها الدبلوماسية لإحباط التصويت الدولي.
خاص – الخبر اليمني: ومنحت الولايات المتحدة الاحتلال ضوء اخضر لاجتياح رفح بعد ان كان تأجلت العملية.
وأفادت صحيفة الغارديان البريطانية ببدء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي نقل مدافع وناقلات جند إلى تخوم مدينة رفح، في حين اكدت هيئة البث الإسرائيلي قرار الاحتلال اجتياح المدينة التي تأوي نحو مليون ونصف مليون نازح على مرحلتين.
وتتزامن التحركات الإسرائيلية مع حراك للإدارة الامريكية في أوساط المؤسسات التشريعية لتمرير حزمة مساعدات عسكرية كبيرة للاحتلال الإسرائيلي تضاف إلى جسر سابق شمل تزويد الاحتلال بطائرات وقنابل استراتيجية.
وكانت حكومة الاحتلال اكدت في وقت سابق ارجاء معركة رفح.
وجاء تحريك الاحتلال لملف رفح قبيل جلسة مرتقبة لمجلس الامن الدولي تهدف للتصويت على عضوية كاملة لفلسطين في الأمم المتحدة وهي الخطوة التي تعارضها أمريكا رغم وعودها لحلفائها بإعلان دولة فلسطين مقابل دعم الحرب على غزة.
والهجوم على غزة تهدف من خلاله الإدارة الأمريكية لنسف جهود اعلان قيام الدولة الفلسطينية او ما تبقى منها باعتبار غزة اخر المناطق التي كان يعول عليها لقيام الدولة الفلسطينية في ضوء احتلال بقية المدن الفلسطينية.
ويعتبر الهجوم على رفح رسالة أمريكية باستحالة تحقيق الدولة الفلسطينية خصوصا وانه يتزامن مع تهديدها باستخدام الفيتو ضمن حراك دبلوماسي دولية في مجلس الامن للتصويت على اعلان قيام دولة فلسطين.
يذكر ان الاحتلال كان بدا بالفعل هجومه على رفح بغارات وقصف مدفعي مكثف.
